A title sequence for the conceptual political drama Heirloom.
Develop a concept for a fictional Movie or TV Show. Create a Pitch Deck outlining the characters and genre, graphic elements, typography, storyboards, and style frames. Execute a title sequence considering the concept and thematic elements of the story in your chosen movie or show.
Heirloom is a political drama set in the future following the lives of four children of the new world's most notable political leaders. As we follow each main character we see how their relationship is intimately woven with their parent's political and social position. Heirloom explores morality, scandal, and the passion and struggle of familial responsibility.

Inspiration
I did research into some of Wolfgang Weingart's 'new wave' contributions to typography. Specifically, the idea that by hiding and framing type you draw attention to the information hidden beneath the graphic element.
I also found interest in the contrast of type elements in this Vignelli piece.
Typography
Aktiv Grotesk and Redaction were chosen as metaphors for the opposition between a parent and child relationship.

Graphic Elements
The bold red and black graphic style illustrates a dark and intense invasion into the typographic treatment and activation for the tracked out type.
Type Treatment
The tracked out type is used as visual texture, hierarchical emphasis, and emotive tension. The final storyboard flashes to the wordmark before it blurs and fades out further emphasizing the loom over the characters before the episode.

Weaving moments of type and graphic elements the final storyboard and title sequence tell the story of an all too imaginable future. Heirloom's title sequence visualizes power, love, family, and the political system of a near future.
